Background and History
Ophthalmic Connections is owned and operated by Shannon Hawkins, a Certified Ophthalmic Technician through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). Shannon has been working in the field of Ophthalmology as an Ophthalmic Technician for over 25 years. Providing patient care in the ophthalmic capacity has been a complete fulfillment in her career. Starting in the mid-1990s as an Optician then moving on to an Optometric Technician followed by her status as an Ophthalmic Technician, has allowed for a comprehensive understanding of the eye care field. Shannon loves being a part of preserving and restoring sight to patients through testing and education.
